The Louisbourg Visitor Information Centre, operated by Destination Cape Breton Association, is located on the Main Street right next to the Fire Station in the old Town hall. Tourism staff will answer all of your travel questions, ensuring you make the most of your visit in Louisbourg.

f you have a disability, you can arrange for a pass at the Visitor Reception Centre to drive your own vehicle to the Fortress. Fortress streets are wheelchair-accessible, with assistance. Portable ramps are available to provide access to some buildings. For assistance, ask at the Visitor Reception Centre. Wheelchair lifts are available at the Visitor Centre and the Beausèjour House on-site.

You will soon notice that everybody waves at you. It is just a Louisbourg thing. I guess at first it was just people who had the first few cars but it has carried on. It is a nice tradition.

Two Rivers Wildlife Park
Located at the junction of the Mira and Salmon Rivers near Marion Bridge, Two Rivers Wildlife Park is home to animals and birds native to Nova Scotia, including Sable Island horses, moose, eagles, pine marten, black bear, lynx and bobcat. The Park also offers a petting zoo, horse drawn wagon rides, u-fish ponds, river swimming, a playground, interpretive trails, and picnic facilities. Winter activities include: cross country skiing (rentals available), sleigh rides and outdoor skating. Two Rivers Wildlife Park is open year round 7 days a week.
